Rugg Road Paper Co. was founded by two artists, Bernard Toale and Joe Zina on Rugg Road in Allston, Massachusetts.
From 1984 to 1992, it functioned as a handmade paper-making studio, gallery, and workshop space that catered to the art and design communities.
In 1994, Amy Madanick and Casandra McIntyre took over Rugg Road and moved it to Charles Street in Boston, where it remains today. Amy and Casandra maintained the store's unique collection of handmade papers from around the world, and expanded the shop to sell more products to the general public, including stationery, wedding invitations, journals, photo albums, greeting cards, and gifts.
Today, Rugg Road is a friendly neighborhood paper store that offers excellent, personalized customer service and a varied selection of fine specialty papers, stationery and wedding invitations, cards, and gifts.
